Occasion:

Captain:

Plan:

An early start. Traffic will be very, very light. Weather is looking very good. Don't turn up if you have had a late New Years celebration. We will be covering a long distance and not travelling slowly.

The roads in these areas are wonderful bike roads and with light traffic for much of the morning it will be very enjoyable. Once we reach Warragul for something to eat we will be heading back towards home but not on freeways till Berwick and beyond.

Approximate route is...Tooradin, Lang Lang, Nyora, Poowong, Bena, Korumburra, Warragul, Drouin, Longwarry, Bunyip, Garfield, Tynong, Nar Nar Goon, Officer, Beaconfield, Berwick and home. This is of course subject to change depending on conditions encountered, group size or other factors.

Have a full tank of fuel, warm clothes in layers as it will be cool early and warm up later. Have water for drinking and a snack with you if possible. Make sure your tyres are checked before leaving.

Report:

What a great day and what a great ride. I was expecting Graham, myself and Les to be the only takers. But by 8.00am in the McDonalds carpark we had 11 bikes. The traffic was as expected, very light and with very few cars on the road to impede our way we were soon approaching Tooradin on the first leg of the ride. Les was Ride Captain and we made good time without being over the speed limits.

Lunch in Warragul after some wonderful twisties where Les, Evan and I took off a little up front. Everyone brought up the rear pretty quickly and we then headed into town at about 11.45am to fress.

Gideon left us just before Tooradin. Volvi left us just after Tooradin and unfortunately for Arthur he was summoned home very early in the piece to come home and help with a sick child. Hope all is OK Arthur.

The ride home was even great as we stayed off the freeway as long as possible. Diverting from Warragul through to Nar Nar Goon on some great back roads. Then home on the last leg using the M1. Total of 270kms and home at 2.00pm

Thankyou all for coming and making the ride so pleasureable. Thanks to Les for a great job leading. Those of you who could not make it, I hope your party or other event for New Years Eve was worth missing this great ride.
