Plan:

Our YOW member from New York, Lauren Secular is arriving in Australia on Thursday the 4th October. She will be heading out to Phillip Island on Friday morning to stay for the weekend of Motorcycle Racing there. We will meet at Cafe D'Lish 269 Bambra Rd. Caulfield South from 9.00am for coffee or breakfast. Leaving at 10.00am sharp. I will accompany Lauren to the Island and leave her with Chris Rostron and his race team for the weekend. Anyone wishing to cruise up to the Island with us is welcome to come along. We'll have lunch up there and head back to Melbourne arriving back by approximately 3.00pm If the weather is not kind we will drive up by car. If you have some spare time Friday please join us. Weather permitting I will ride back to the Island on either Saturday or Sunday (weather dependant) and through some scenic side roads on the way up there. The route is not finalised but I will do so in the next week.

Report:

The expected marginal weather fortunately stayed away. A nice group met at Cafe D'Lish on Bambra Rd. for breakfast and a shmooze. Sol, Rueven and Mary were there to see us off. Riding were Max, Lauren, Wayne and myself. We left just after 10.00am and came into the Tooradin road via the Frankston freeway. A pish stop at Tooradin and we proceeded onto the korrumburra road and then led by Max into some very nice deserted back roads. Back onto the Bass Highway and into San Remo for lunch. Max and Lauren proceeded on to the race track while Wayne and I headed home in the glorious sunshine. See the new photo gallery for more pics. Will add Lauren's trackside photos in the next few days.
