Hi YOWs, The weather this weekend is looking great. This is a very rare thing so we shouldn’t waste the opportunity. It’s not the official ride day but let’s do a decent ride. I haven’t ridden anywhere besides the café since getting back from the R2R and feel like getting the VFR smoking. So who’s up for it? With no rain tomorrow or Saturday the roads should be nice and dry, even the spurs, tho with overnight 4 deg it will be very cold on the spurs so I’m suggesting back roads to Inverloch. There are some nice pubs or cafes to have lunch there If I lead I’ll go >> boring slab to kooweerup (floods have subsided), then lang lang, nyora, legstretch at loch, then backroads to wonthaggi, cape patterson. Back via either kongwak, korumburra or direct, dep on time. Est home by 3:30. See you there for a 9AM departure. It will be chilly morning so winter linings & gloves. 4 bikes or less and it’s coffee and home for me.

Ride Report - Inverloch 8-jul It was a frosty 2 deg at 9am at the café but Shalom fired up the gas heaters as there was quite a crowd of YOWs there today. With such a clear sunny day it warmed up to 10deg by mid morning making perfect riding weather. Riders were: Richard (RC), Mike, Evan, Jonno, Volvi (on CB1000) and Dave (TEC) on road king. Route ridden anticlockwise shown below. The mess around Loch was not because we got lost, the road from Poowong was closed about 500m from Loch – assume bridge problems so detour took us back to nyora and around the A440. For future reference comparing times this route via Kooweerup seems definitely the fastest way to get from Caulfield area to M420, albeit boring as. Devonshire Tea break at Loch, after which Dave and Volvi headed back. Nice back roads to Wonthaggi, and great sea views after cape patterson. Lunch in Inverloch. Mike split off at Korumburra while Evan, Jonno and I continued across the favourite strezleki twisties to Warrigul. Back 4 ish. 340kms.
